Skin Boosters

+ What is it?

Skin Boosters such as Profhilo are designed to deliver deep hydration to the skin. They give a glow to the skin that can’t be achieved through topical products alone. Comprising hyaluronic acid, similar to that produced by the skin, they immediately improve hydration, firmness and elasticity. There are now several Skin Boosting products available in addition to Profhilo.

+ Is it for me?

Anyone can receive a Skin Booster treatment like Profhilo. However, it is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Products such as Profhilo have a very good safety profile.

+ Procedure

Following a thorough consultation and medical history, consent will be obtained and photographs taken. These will be safely stored in accordance with Data Protection rules. Following thorough cleansing, several superficial subcutaneous injections are administered.

+ Aftercare

There may be some swelling and mild tenderness around the injection points. This will quickly resolve. Do not touch or massage the area for the rest of the day. Apply a strong SPF(30-50) and stay out of the sun. Make sure to stay hydrated. The next day, you can resume your usual activities.

A course of 2-3 is recommended.

+ Which is better?

For younger skin and immediate results that are more affordable, Profhilo is a good choice. For longer-lasting results around the eyes, opt for Polynucleotides or Sunekos.

For the neck area, either a combination of Polynucleotides and Profhilo or a Sunekos/Profhilo combination. The addition of a wrinkle-smoother such as Botox can also be beneficial for smoothing platysmal bands.

To treat hair loss, Polynucleotides probably have the edge.
